Summer Happenings

The first month of summer has come and gone.  Bringing with it many things.

Lots of hugs.  He gives me (and pretty much everyone he sees) these kinds of hugs everyday.

Taylor had to get in on one, too.

Swim lessons. I'm so proud of the children's progress!

This is Charlie's new expression when faced with the camera.

Taylor is still a little unsure when asked to go underwater.

Charlie does not share her discomfort in the water.

Art projects. Taylor was helping Morgan color a picture for Aunt Julie.  We are also working on making our own checkerboard and checkers.

Summer Recipes. Daddy and Taylor resurrected their tradition of baking together and made a blueberry pie.

It was well received by all.

Pursued independence. Morgan is trying to dress herself now (sure wish Charlie would!).  Here's her attempt at putting on shorts.  She walked around like this excited by her near success.

She's also been enjoying sitting at the big table instead of her high chair.

Summer Storms.  We had some pretty powerful winds on Friday while I was watching my sisters' kids.  Enough to  take out a huge tree in her yard and knock out our electricity.  The kids didn't mind a bit though.  Who needs electricity when you have battery-powered electronics?

Lost Teeth. Grace pulled out Taylor's second tooth during her visit on Friday.

New Friends. I met a local photographer who graciously agreed to take my headshot.  One day soon, you'll see one of these on my new photography website.

Birthdays. Aunt Julie has been visiting for a few weeks and we LOVE having her here.  It was so special to celebrate her 40th birthday with her this weekend.

Taylor and Grace performed at the party for us.  (Those are Grace's legs!)  Doing a skit that was once performed by their mamas in a talent show.

The upcoming week is sure to be fun with the fourth of July just around the corner.  What do you plan to do to celebrate?

Let the pictures speak

I know I haven't posted in a while.  I encourage those who would like to see more frequent updates to check out my 365 project.  I am much better at keeping that updated.  So in a lot of photos and a few words, here's my update:

I took Taylor to some locations I've been scouting to practice shooting during the golden hour.

Charlie started T Ball and we practiced in the yard.

We celebrated Father's Day by serving Daddy breakfast in bed.

Taylor coordinated the creation of this flag for her daddy.  She had Morgan color the blue paper, and Charlie colored the red stripes.  She drew the hearts and stars and assembled the masterpiece.

Then I went to my dad's house for a sleepover with my sisters and the big girls.  We loved looking at his beautiful flower garden.

My dad served up some burgers and hot dogs:)

While in KY, Taylor lost her first tooth.

We went to the library on Tuesday.

And then washed my car.

The stool was her idea.

We had a lot of fun with this keyboard and making up our own version of the freeze dance. Morgan joined in the dancing.  It was adorable.

Taylor was invited to a princess party at The Enchanted Village.

They even invited Morgan to participate!

Charlie's away game in Hamilton.  He's so cute out there!

Well that's it for now. I hope everyone has a wonderful week!
