To say I am loving summer would be a huge understatement. This summer has been wonderful so far!! I think it is because I jumpstarted my summer by
leaving town for ten days. It's like I left our regular routines and responsibilities behind and started just living in the moment and enjoying every second of it. The feeling didn't end when I got home. We've still been staying up late, sleeping in, and filling our days with fun and relaxation.
I've also been focusing inward on my photography. I am trying to hone in on my style and figure out how to make more of those images that awaken something within me. I am being a lot more thoughtful in my shooting and editing and having so much fun in the process. Also, I got a new lens that is uh-mazing. But more on that later...
Taylor's strawberry bush has begun to yield berries. We've eaten three so far and have a handful more that will be ripe soon!
She was so proud of herself as she should be. She has taken on all the responsibility of checking them, rotating and watering them.

Enter new lens: I have been saving for the better part of a year for a macro lens. I finally received it on Wednesday. I don't really know what I'm doing yet, but I do know it is fun!
The wonderful thing about this lens is that it has a 105 focal length which is somewhat telephoto. This means it doubles as an awesome portrait lens.

I took the kids to the park (with my new lens) and Morgan would not keep her clothes on. Awww, to be young...

Mark decided it was time for Morgan to get her first hair cut. So Taylor and I took her today for a little snip.
She was excited.
She grew very quiet and still in the chair.
