Barn 'N Bunk

The kids and I joined the MOMS club for a fun outing at Barn 'N Bunk Farm today.
First we took a wagon ride and saw how they decorated their haystacks.

Then they collectively made a scarecrow.
Next we checked out two mazes- a haystack maze and a corn maze. Charlie was excited to see real corn in the stalks.
Then they each picked out a pumpkin to take home.

After a snack of apple juice and an apple it was time to go home.
But not before buying some mums at the store there!

Preschool Field Trip

Taylor went to Schappacher Farm with her preschool class this week.
The farmer, Butch, did a great job teaching the kids about his crops and animals.
He let the kids feed corn to his cows.
The cows were a little too anxious for Taylor so I had to feed hers for her.
They then fed the donkeys some Saltines.
It looked like it might rain, but we were spared.
Finally we took a hayride (actually a straw ride) to the pumpkin patch where Taylor picked out a pumpkin.
She's keeping it in her bedroom. I'm pretty sure she talks to it.
This is why I'm a stay-at-home mom.

Harvest Celebration

The Williams family had the best day this Saturday!
Every year a man from our parish donates the profits from his soybean crop to the church. Each year they have an outdoor mass followed by a celebration on his farm. This was the first year we could come.
I believe this was my first ever ourtdoor Catholic mass. I really enjoyed it.

Morgan was in a good mood the whole day, too.

The kids enjoyed the bouncy house. Especially we they had it all to themselves!

They also loved the horse rides (especially Taylor. She rode four times!)
At first, I road with Charlie, but by the end of the day he braved it himself!

But can we really be surprised? Look at my daredevil leaping into Daddy's arms from a 6 foot haystack!

Overall, it was a beautiful fall day, in a beautiful part of Ohio, with wonderful people. I'm so glad that we went.

A Day Out With Thomas

Today, we surprised the kids with a Day Out With Thomas at the Lebanon Railroad.
This was Charlie's first glimpse of Thomas.

First we posed for a picture with our beloved friend.
Then a quick picture with Sir Topham Hatt. (Taylor wasn't too thrilled with him)
Align Center
Finally it was time for our ride with Thomas. The conductor encouraged the kids to yell "Push, Thomas, Push" and to clap for him so he knew we were happy.
When we got back, we checked out the rest of the festivities. Videos of Thomas,
train tables,
Thomas slide and jumpy house, tattoos, and gift shop.

Overall, it was a fun day and a nice surprise for the kids.

Oktoberfest with the Damons

We had a great time at Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Rogers Oktoberfest celebration this weekend!
The kids were so happy that their cousins were there (including cousin Alison!)

Morgan spent most of the time with Grandma and Grandpa from KY.
Then Morgan gave me her first big smile today (Monday)!!
